About this session
ADHD runs in families, so many parents raising a child with ADHD have it themselves. That can mean forgotten permission slips, mornings that fall apart for both of you, and routines that last about a week. It can also mean a constant feeling that you should be doing better. Most parenting advice assumes you have a steady supply of focus, memory and follow-through. When your own brain works the way your child's does, that advice can feel impossible.
In this workshop, Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L and Jill Gitten Aloia, PhD, ABPP-CN talk directly to parents with ADHD. Dr. Jill explains how ADHD affects executive function in adults as well as kids: planning, time, memory and emotional regulation. She'll also cover why the usual parenting systems often fail in ADHD households. Lily brings practical, real-life strategies for setting up your home, routines and environment so they do more of the remembering for you. You'll leave with systems that work with an ADHD brain, not against it.
What we'll cover:
After the talk, we'll open the floor to a live parent Q&A. Bring the routines that keep falling apart, the moments you and your child clash, and your questions.
You're not a disorganized parent. You're a parent with a brain that needs different tools. This session is about finding the ones that work for your whole family.

I'm a licensed, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with 25 years of experience, but honestly, supporting outside-the-box children has never felt like "work" to me. As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I've focused on children with neurodevelopmental differences, including ADHD, since graduate school. My research interest in neurodevelopmental differences carried me through a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Brown University. View full profile
