About this session

Sensory processing differences shape almost every part of the day — the tags in a shirt, the noise in a cafeteria, the texture of dinner, the feeling of being hugged too tight or not tight enough. For a lot of parents, that means constant vigilance: scanning every environment before your child even walks in, bracing for the meltdown that can come out of nowhere, and explaining — again — that this isn't a tantrum, it's a nervous system reaching its limit.

This support group, led by Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L and Jill Gitten Aloia, PhD, ABPP-CN, is a space for parents to talk honestly about what sensory processing challenges actually look like in your house — the meltdowns nobody sees coming, the exhaustion of managing every environment, the grief of watching your child struggle with things that come easily to other kids. Share what's hardest right now, hear from other parents living a similar reality, and get clinical insight into what's happening in your child's nervous system and why it responds the way it does.

You know your child better than anyone. This is a space to be reminded you don't have to hold all of this by yourself.

Jill Aloia

PhD, ABPP-CN

I'm a licensed, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with 25 years of experience, but honestly, supporting outside-the-box children has never felt like "work" to me. As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I've focused on children with neurodevelopmental differences, including ADHD, since graduate school. My research interest in neurodevelopmental differences carried me through a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Brown University. View full profile

I'm a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, co-founder, and Chief Clinical Officer of Kinspire, and for nearly two decades, I've been driven by one question: why is it still so hard for families to get support that actually works? View full profile
