About this session

You've probably heard the term "sensory diet" thrown around — in an IEP meeting, on social media, maybe from your child's OT. But most parents are handed a list of activities with no explanation of why those activities, why now, or how to tell if it's actually working for their kid. A sensory diet isn't a fixed set of exercises. It's a personalized plan for the kind of sensory input your child's nervous system needs, on a regular schedule, to stay regulated enough to function, learn, and connect.

In this session, Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L breaks down what a sensory diet really is (and what it isn't), why the right input at the right time can prevent a meltdown before it starts, and how to build one that's actually built for your child's unique sensory profile — not a generic list copied from the internet.

What we'll cover:

Following the presentation, Lily will stay on for a live parent Q&A — bring your child's specific sensory patterns and the activities you've tried that have and haven't worked.

This session is part of Kinspire's live workshop programming, designed to give parents real knowledge — not just tips — so you can understand what's happening in your child's body and respond with confidence.

Meet your experts

Jill Aloia

PhD, ABPP-CN

I'm a licensed, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with 25 years of experience, but honestly, supporting outside-the-box children has never felt like "work" to me. As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I've focused on children with neurodevelopmental differences, including ADHD, since graduate school. My research interest in neurodevelopmental differences carried me through a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Brown University. View full profile

I'm a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, co-founder, and Chief Clinical Officer of Kinspire, and for nearly two decades, I've been driven by one question: why is it still so hard for families to get support that actually works? View full profile
