About this session
The same five safe foods on repeat. Gagging at a new texture. Tears, or a full meltdown, when something unfamiliar lands on the plate. For many outside-the-box kids, picky eating isn't about being stubborn or spoiled. The way their body takes in taste, texture and smell can make a new food feel overwhelming. Pressure, bribes and "just one bite" usually make it harder, not easier.
In this workshop, Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L looks at what's really happening at your table. She'll show how your child's sensory system shapes what they will and won't eat, and why familiar, predictable foods feel so much safer. Then she'll walk you through calm, step-by-step ways to widen your child's menu while keeping mealtimes peaceful.
What we'll cover:
After Lily's talk, we'll open the floor to a live parent Q&A. Bring the foods your child won't touch, the mealtime moments that fall apart and your questions.
You're not failing at dinner. Your child's nervous system just needs a different way in, and this session will help you find it.
