Get to know me
Hi! I’m Nicole Lussier, MOT, OTR/L, a pediatric occupational therapist with 17 years of experience supporting children and families. The majority of my time as an occupational therapist has been in early intervention and supporting school-aged children. I love helping families better understand what’s underneath their child’s challenges so everyday routines can feel more manageable and more connected.
My specialty areas include child development, sensory processing, feeding, play skills, emotional regulation, and activities of daily living (ADLs). My approach is routine-based and centered on collaborative coaching, meeting your child right where they are and supporting progress through practical strategies that fit into real life.
What I love most about this work is partnering with parents. I believe the biggest changes happen between sessions, when caregivers feel confident using tools in the moments that matter most to their family. My goal is for families to leave each session feeling supported, encouraged, and clear on what to do next, while celebrating progress in all its forms—big and small.
How did your work come to focus on conditions treated by Kinspire clinicians, like ADHD, Autism, and SPD?
My work naturally grew into supporting children with ADHD, Autism, and sensory processing differences because so many of the families I’ve worked with were navigating challenges in the exact areas Kinspire focuses on—regulation, sensory needs, feeding, daily routines, and participation in everyday life. Working in early intervention helped me see how important it is to identify needs early and support families in the moments that matter most, like mealtimes, transitions, sleep, play, and big emotions. Over time, I became especially passionate about helping children who were often seen as “behavioral,” when they were really communicating unmet sensory or regulation needs. With continued training in sensory processing, feeding, DIR/Floortime, trauma-informed care, and the Early Start Denver Model, my focus has become helping families understand the “why” behind their child’s challenges and build practical strategies that fit into real life.
How would you describe your approach to working with families?
I prioritize connection first, then collaboration and skill-building. My goal is for families to leave each session feeling seen, supported, and confident, with a clear plan they can use right away. I also celebrate progress in all forms—big or small—because consistency over time is what creates lasting change.
