Get to know me

I'm an occupational therapist with over 14 years of experience and a wide breadth of expertise in supporting children with diverse needs. Specializing in virtual school-based services, Leslie supports students in grades K-12 both nationally and internationally. Her extensive background includes acute-care pediatrics, inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, and online public schools. She works with students on IEPs and 504 plans and is adept at supporting those with dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, sensory processing disorder, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

I have been featured on Good Day Columbus, ShoutoutDFW, and Voyage Dallas, and was recognized as DFWChild magazine’s Mom Approved in 2021 and 2024. I developed the first Pediatric Telehealth Case for ClineEdWeb and earned a spot in the Dallas Mavs Business Assist Program in 2023 from over 500 applicants.

I am committed to building strong relationships with parents and value the importance of providing education and resources to help families support their children's success. I focus on creating inclusive, supportive environments that empower children to reach their full potential.

How would you describe your approach to working with families?

I would characterize my approach as collaborative, goal-focused, and compassionate. I believe families know their child best, so I always begin by listening to their concerns and goals. From there, we create a partnership where we problem-solve and celebrate small wins together.

I aim to offer practical strategies that fit into everyday routines and honor each family’s values, customs, and culture. My goal is to empower parents and caregivers with skills and knowledge so they feel confident continuing to support their child even after sessions end. Trust and hope are at the core of every interaction, and I strive to work side-by-side with families toward meaningful progress.

What are you able to accomplish with Kinspire that you couldn’t in a traditional occupational therapy setting?

With Kinspire, I can support families in real-time within their natural environments, which isn’t always possible in a clinic. I get to observe how challenges show up at home or in the community and collaborate with parents in the moment to problem-solve.

Kinspire also offers more frequent and flexible communication. Rather than waiting for a weekly session, parents can reach out when challenges arise, and we can adjust strategies right away. This leads to more purposeful progress and builds families' confidence in using these tools every day.

Other Interests

Outside of work, I devote my time to my family, often juggling baseball practices and games for my two boys. We love exploring new cities to catch major league sporting events and make the most of our travels by discovering local attractions and cuisine. When we’re not on the go, you can find us enjoying quality time at home, participating in family game nights, and supporting each other’s hobbies and interests.

"Kinspire allows me to connect more closely with the families I work with and provide support in ways that weren't possible before, with access to a therapist right at your fingertips."
