Get to know me
As an Occupational Therapist, my mission is to empower children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, and later completed a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Throughout my career, I have been committed to embracing evidence-based treatment strategies.
My expertise encompasses a diverse range of techniques, including Sensory Integration, the SOS Approach to Feeding, Beckman Oral Motor, CAN-EAT Approach, Primitive Reflex Integration, Astronaut Training, and Therapeutic Listening. Driven by my passion for this field, I have pursued advanced training in reflux and infant feeding, focusing particularly on the critical developmental stage of 6 to 16 months, as well as ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), allowing me to address complex feeding issues in children effectively.
What distinguishes me is not only my professional dedication but also my personal journey. As a mother to a son born prematurely, I have firsthand experience navigating challenges related to gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and feeding. This intimate experience informs my approach as a feeding therapist, enabling me to connect with families on a deeper level and provide empathetic support. Beyond textbooks, my own journey enriches my practice and reinforces my unwavering commitment to children's well-being.
Other Interests
When I'm not at work, you'll usually find me getting my hands dirty in my garden, crafting and painting, or just spending time with my husband, son, and our furry friend. We love to hit the road and explore new places. I'm a big foodie, so wherever we go, I always make sure to try out the local cuisine and soak up the culture through food. There's just something special about sharing a meal with loved ones and discovering new flavors together—it's one of my favorite things to do!
