Get to know me

Hello! I'm a licensed occupational therapist, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself to potential Kinspire families. I earned my master's degree in occupational therapy at Mount Mary University and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. I am a dedicated lifelong learner with a passion for pediatrics. I have experience working in a variety of settings, particularly in an outpatient clinic with children of all ages and abilities.

Over the years, I have pursued advanced training in various topics of interest, including sensory processing (interoception), a modern approach to self-regulation, primitive reflexes/reflex integration, the "Get Permission" approach to feeding/starting solids, growth mindset, mental health/trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches to autism, and neurodiversity-affirming training.

Throughout my career, I have developed a deep appreciation for the therapeutic alliance created through parent/child collaboration. My personal experience with parenthood has also been a profound source of inspiration, leading me to this unique opportunity. My mission is to offer guidance that empowers families to navigate areas with room for growth and explore strategies to meet their goals, helping the family thrive. I firmly believe in the transformative power of the holistic lens of OT to promote meaningful participation and overall well-being. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of your family's journey.

How did your work come to focus on conditions treated by Kinspire clinicians, like ADHD, Autism, and SPD?

My work in outpatient clinical and school settings has naturally centered on supporting neurodivergent children. These conditions often intersect, and I've seen firsthand how individualized support can make a meaningful difference. Kinspire's holistic approach—addressing root causes, fostering supportive environments, and empowering families—aligns closely with my own values and experiences. The emphasis on parent involvement and real-life support resonates with me, as I've always believed in the power of family-centered care.

How would you describe your approach to working with families?

I see working with families as a team effort. I provide a therapeutic listening ear and work together to co-create treatment based on their needs and support their goals. By offering ideas and support, relevant resources and activities, and being there to answer questions, I aim to help families feel confident and capable in supporting their child’s growth and well-being. This way, therapy feels more like a partnership and is connected to what matters most.
