About
Renee Allen, MS OTR/L has been a sensory-focused occupational therapist for 21 years. She has focused on pediatric populations with sensory needs in a school for the deaf-and-blind, early intervention and private sensory clinics. She currently runs a small private practice for young children and their families that uses the STAR Frame of References, where she addresses the dynamic interaction between regulation, relationships, and sensory processing. She is SIPT certified and has completed multiple continuing education courses in sensory processing. She holds expert training in the DIR/Floortime Model through the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning. She has training in the use of the Interactive Listening Systems (ILs) and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Renee is on Faculty at the STAR Institute where she teaches mentorship and proficiency certification courses for other occupational therapists. In addition, she is currently working on her Masters in Social Work through Metro State University in Denver. She loves living in Colorado with her two teenagers, her two dogs, and her husband.
